Here is a listing of rolodex numbers which you should keep on hand in the event that you should need any kind of information.
Associations ~ Author / WriterAssociations are a great way to keep informed of industry trends and the latest news. Associations are in groups of authors, on-air personalities, publicists, publishers, and trainers. Please seek out an association that is equivalent to your industry. If you are an author on a particular topic, make sure you are in an association about that topic. If there isn't one currently about the topic of your choice, you may want to consider forming an association of your own. If it is good enough to write a book about, then it is probably worth taking the time to form an association for it.
Author BrandingBanding is the recognized image of an item, person, place, or thing. Examples would be Mickey Mouse, Michael Jordan, Kleenex, and Xerox. Often times people say can you Xerox this for me ? What they are actually saying is can you photocopy this for me ? Branding is turning a particular item into the item. Author branding is the idea of creating a brand for an individual instead of a book. When someone says, Stephen King, they know his type of writing, along with a popular book by him. This goes for other authors such as John Grisham, Stephen Cubby, etc. Author branding is making the author popular, not the book.

Media ~ Audio CreationAudio Creation is the step by step procedure of creating audio programs. These include books on tape, or a CD set on your particular topic. Often times these can be scripted and taken into a studio whereby an audio CD, audio cassette, or DVD can be created to give you an audio package to be sold. Audio creation can also be taken from an existing seminar. The easiest way to do this is to take an audio or video tape recorder into a seminar and then create the audio tracks from this recorder. Please find a list of people who can assist with audio creation below.

Here is a list of companies who can create a video for you in an acceptable format. Please note that you should not just hire a videographer. This should be a laid out process to make sure that the video is completed to the highest standard, along with matching your brand and delivering the information required in the time set by the speaker's bureaus standards. This is a semi- complicated process. You can not just stand in front of a camera and deliver your speech. you must have a speaker demo created by a company who knows how to market you as a speaker.
