Banding is the recognized image of an item, person, place, or thing. Examples would be Mickey Mouse, Micheal Jordan, Kleenex, and Xerox. Often times people say "can you Xerox this for me ?" What they are actually saying is "can you photocopy this for me ?" Branding is turning a particular item into " the item." Author branding is the idea of creating a brand for an individual instead of a book. When someone says, "Stephen King," they know his type of writing, along with a popular book by him. This goes for other authors such as John Grisam, Stephen Cubby, etc. Author branding is making the author popular, not the book. George Brown Author Branding (808) 647-0821
